Chevy Spark mini car priced at $12,995 Apr 6th 2012, 04:00 Cute now has a price, and it's $12,995. That's how much Chevrolet will charge for its Spark mini car when it goes on sale later this year. The oh-so-small five-door slotting into the automaker's lineup under the popular $14,495 Sonic subcompact in both price and size. The four-passenger Spark will come powered by a 1.2-liter 85 hp four-cylinder engine, with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy has not yet been determined. While base models will be fitted with Spartan appointments, uplevel Sparks will be available with electric locks, leatherette upholstery and a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system that can pair with a smartphone to access a selection of apps like Stitcher Smart Radio and GogoLink navigation. It will be available in nearly any color – including Denim and Techno Pink – as long as it's not black. That's a $195 option. The Spark enters a growing segment of parking champions that ranges from the two-seat $13,980 Smart Fortwo to the Fiat 500 and Scion iQ, both priced around $16,000. All are undercut by the larger, more powerful $11,770 Nissan Versa, which is currently the lowest-priced car on sale in the United States. A battery powered version of the Spark will follow in 2013.
